Dennis the Menace

Artist: Hank Ketcham, December 18, 1992

Christmas carols and phonograph albums have a fond association for me when I remember my father bringing home each year's edition of Firestone Favorite Christmas Carols, purchased from the tire dealer across the street from his office. These albums were 33 1/3 stereo recordings and they were in competition with the Christmas album offered by Goodyear, the chief rival. We were a "Firestone" house and we played the records on our Magnovox console, a fine piece of furniture (as opposed to the simple tabletop record player in this cartoon).
