Talking stories published by The Talking Book Corporation in 1919 were unique children's records mounted on cardboard shaped animals, figures and story books. On the front was a graphic of the animal or figure and the little 4 inch record. On the back was the text of the story. The whole cutout was placed on the record player and voile, it was story time. The elephant (below) was selected as the representative of these talking books to be the inductee into the Talking Toy Hall of Fame but it is actually the whole series that is being honored.
