The croquet court
that was envisioned by Mom for an area next to their Barr family
house at River Ranch in the 1930's never happened.
But after marriage
and a move to the suburbs of Lincoln, Nebraska her own backyard
lawn became home court for her croquet dreams. From 1960 to
2001 in every season of the year croquet became a tradition
of competitive fun, as expected as dessert after a family gathering
for a holiday or birthday.
