Columbia Grafonola

The Columbia table model on display is a cheaper alternative to the table top models with lids (like the one below) and the larger floor model disc phonographs. Table top phonographs were popular in the late teens and early 1920's. Made of oak or mahogany, the horizontal louvers on the front were typical of the table top Grafonolas, covering the internal "horn" and allowing some degree of volume control with a knob on the side.
