Edison Home - Model A

This early Model A EDISON HOME PHONOGRAPH, circa 1897, featured the colorful EDISON HOME PHONOGRAPH banner on the cover instead of on the case as did the later 'New Style' cases. Now known as the 'suitcase' model the cover was secured by suitcase clips, two at the front and two at the rear of the machine. Accessories included the Edison Standard Speaker and Edison Recorder: by 1899 the Automatic Reproducer was provided in place of the Standard. A 14 inch brass horn, 2-way hearing-tubes, oil-can and camel-hair chip-brush were other accessories. A speaking tube could be taken instead of the horn, if desired.
