"If It Could Have Been. A Retrospective, by Col. Robert G. Ingersoll
The following excerpt is from Col. Robert G. Ingersoll's article in the Phonogram in which Ingersoll laments the absence of the Phonograph in earlier times. One of his examples was his sincere "wish that there had been a phonograph in the Garden of Eden."

A 1906 postcard would later correct Ingersoll's lament about no phonograph being in the Garden of Eden since, according to the cartoon, there was one.
